WHY TEST COCAINE?
Street cocaine is sometimes adulterated with other dangerous substances, amphetamines, levamisole, and fentanyl. Use our cocaine testing kit to test for these substances.
Levamisole is a veterinary deworming medication that is frequently added to cocaine. It is toxic to your immune system and can stop your body from producing the white blood cells necessary to fight diseases. This condition is called ‘agranulocytosis’. Many long-term cocaine users have died from otherwise treatable illnesses due to levamisole interfering with your immune system.
Amphetamines are sometimes added to cocaine.
Fentanyl is a potent synthetic opioid that is 50-100 times stronger than morphine. It is responsible for over 50,000 overdose deaths in the US. Although fentanyl contamination is still rare in Australia, fentanyl has been found in cocaine in Sydney. The AFP recently seized over 30kg of fentanyl, so fentanyl contamination may become more likely.

COCAINE TESTING KIT INSTRUCTIONS:

TEST 1: Use the Morris reagent to identify the presence of cocaine.
Put a drop of the pink liquid (Morris A) onto a small amount of your sample (roughly the size of a pinhead). You may see blue specks appear. Ignore this - only interpret results at the end.
Then, put a drop of the clear liquid (Morris B) on top of the exact same sample.
Stir the mixture with a toothpick for 20-30 seconds.
Compare the resulting correct final colour with your colour chart. Cocaine should be bright blue.
TEST 2: Use the Marquis reagent to test for amphetamines.
Put a drop of the Marquis reagent onto a new sample (no need to stir). If it is cocaine, it should either do nothing or turn light pink.
If your cocaine turns orange, it either contains amphetamines or a leftover by-product of making cocaine. Use your amphetamine strip to confirm if your cocaine has amphetamine in it.
STEP 3: Use the Liebermann reagent to test for levamisole.

Put a drop of the Liebermann reagent onto a new sample. Liebermann is supposed to turn yellow in the presence of cocaine, but if the cocaine is cut with levamisole or lidocaine, it will turn rusty red.
